Hollywood actor Riz Ahmed
Such firm allegations have been passed by a Pakistani-British star Hollywood actor Riz Ahmed. The star has claimed that Hollywood’s behavior towards Muslim stage performers is not up to the mark. He stressed the biased behavior towards Muslims, particularly in stage performances.
Ahmed’s opinion amid an interview:
The situation is aggravating and they seem heedless towards Muslims,” Hollywood actor Riz Ahmed uttered in an interview. Further, he added, “Muslims only get minor roles or either they are neglected. Seldom do they get roles which are inferior and alarming?”
Actor Riz Ahmed reaction to a movie scene:
Ahmed commented on the scenes from the movie “American Sniper” directed by Clint Eastwood in 2014. In the movie, one character kills a Muslim child in the Iraq war. This was something nonsense to Ahmed. He commented that it’s nonsense, it’s actually hectic to binge-watch such films. It seems pro racist. Besides, he added, that most Muslims are presented as terrorists. However, the reality is reciprocal.
“Nowadays, movies are outdated, racist, and biased” added Ahmed. Additionally, Ahmed has co-written a movie “Mogul Mowgli” about a British Pakistani singer. Which is identical to Ahmed’s life.
Even Muslim names are forbidden:
The actor was born in Britain to a Pakistani family. The character, which is performing in the movie, is named Zaheer. But, he goes with Zed. They changed his name. Now, a question hits our brain that why did they do so? This shows many things, and I am certain that it’s obvious. There is no need to unveil what’s there beyond this name. They don’t let characters perform with such names. Racism and biased nature are the highlighted features.
“It’s not only my obligation. This matter is universal and I need all of you to highlight it. I can only make you conscious. Thus, the rest is on you. You all need to participate in order to demolish such baseless things connected to Muslims. I want to empower you all and I am sure, you all are going to change it through public power.” Added by Ahmed.
In a nutshell, he gives us insight that how Hollywood treats Muslims. The roles which Muslims get are none of their worth. It’s completely unfair. Even the names, which they assign are different. They don’t use Muslim names so that to present entirely different things.
