Twitter paused

Twitter to review some modifications on its account verification program

Twitter to revamp its verification

The microblogging platform has once again suspended its verification program after the week of launch. Twitter has stopped its account verification program after giving a blue tick to fake accounts. The American social media giant claims that it needs to review its application and review process to allow people or celebrities to enter the blue checkmark. In addition, the company claims that it has mistakenly approved some applications for authentic profiles or accounts. However, all we need to do necessary modifications are to discourage fake accounts.

The root cause and its solution

Mistakes from US-owned platforms lead to some fake or spam personalities. According to reports, the company wanted to improve the process of requesting and reviewing the profile, so they have stopped the process.

According to The Verge, a Twitter spokesperson announced that they would resume the account verification program in the next week or two. However, the verification suspension process will not apply to those who have already applied for the blue mark.

The social media giant will take a closer look at the current applications of Twitter accounts. Simply put, if you have applied to the account verification program, your application or request is pending. Meanwhile, all pending requests and requests will be cleared before resuming the “Account Verification Program”

As a reminder, this is not the first time the Tweet Sharing application has suspended or halted its verification process. In fact, it stopped the verification process in 2017.

Internal development

The reason for stopping the program was to confirm an organizer behind the “Unite the Right Rally” in Charlottesville. 4 years after this incident, it has brought a new version in 2021 (current program).

The pause policy of its endorsement program, which started with Twitter, is a clear indication of how difficult it is for digital outlets to give brands and celebrities the badge of approval. According to the micro-blogging platform, the confirmation mark on the profile is a remarkable, active, and authentic symbol.
